Zebrano is a real favourite with wood turners. It comes from Cameroon and Gabon. It has a beautiful stripy grain. I put wax polish on the end grain of each piece to prevent drying out and splitting. The rest of the wood is in a sawn, lightly sanded state. This means that your wood turner will cut it to shape and then bring out the vivid colours using wax polish. Just like when you put a pebble into water.
