Business as normal after the trip to Corfu. I am making the following:

A bedside cabinet.
Some shop display shelves for a famous fellow in Glastonbury.
Bookends for my market stall and a different Glastonbury shop.
Door wedges; bunnies, hedgehogs, squirrels and knights.
Carvings; a medieval king and a werewolf (erm).
Clocks and mirrors.
Three chunky pine side or coffee tables.
A small round oak table with a carved pedestal tree trunk base.
So, fairly busy then!

Cattistock Show was a  great success. To the left are two pictures of my stall. Cattistock show is a combined horse and dog show and is always on the last Bank Holiday in August. You can bring your dog!

The Show was on the 30th of August, on the A356 between Crewkerne and Dorchester. It started at 9am and everyone went home happy and tired at 5pm. Unfortunately I cut the electrical lead to my trailer with my hedge trimmer. It stopped me taking furniture for sale. It just would not fit in my car. The show was excellent!. A mainly sunny day, no rain at all, and a refreshing breeze.  From my stall I could watch the horses in their show arena. Peter Fernandez helped on the stall and the show was well attended. So it was a  lovely day and I met so many great people. The show is on the last Bank Holiday in August and I will be there next year for sure!

I now attend Glastonbury Country Market in the town hall on Tuesdays from 0930 to 1230, and Somerton Country Market in the Unicorn skittle alley on Saturday from 0930 to 1200. See you there!

I will not be at Glastonbury on 20th September as it is a long drive from Corfu.

I have been buying wood and soon the stock of materials will be enormous. This bodes well for the winter months. No! Not so I can burn it! So that I can make lots of artefacts.

Please note that I am now booked up with work for people until the 31st October. So if you want to order, say a carving or a shoe cupboard, that I cannot start work until then. Apologies and thanks!

I thank Elizabeth Pearson, the Warden of Abbey House, Glastonbury for the opportunity to attend the preview evening of their Somerset Art Works display. I met Richard Shepherd (oil paintings), Alexandra Pritchard (contemporary art), Diana Milstein (Miss Smith paintings), Linda Birkinshaw (illustration, Country Comicals) and Gill Hammond (photography and digital imaging). And of course Elizabeth Pearson (photography). It was wonderful to see and discuss their work and I came away with a renewed resolve to produce more and also to improve the presentation of my work for sale. Abbey House is a wonderful place and we were treated to a very fine sunset above and around the ruins of the Abbey itself.
