This is a reproduction antique table, made in oak, with mortise and tenon and dovetail joints. I have used cut nails, in the pre-1880's style. The brass drawer handle looks appropriate and will age to match. (Eventually!)

The dovetails on the drawer fitted so snugly that I tapped them together, and almost added the glue and nails as afterthoughts. For the base of the drawer I made my own two-ply oak, rather than using a modern material. This enhances the apparent age of the piece.

I took such time and care with the polishing that I am very pleased with the result. As soon as a customer saw the table, he asked for the same type of wood and finish to be used for the chests of drawers that he ordered.

The table measures 710mm wide, 385mm deep and 492mm high. (28 inches by 15 inches by 19 inches approximately).
